Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Alizadeh / The Chairman of the Azerbaijan Liberal-Democratic Party (ALDP), Valeh Ibadov, was released from prison, the Chairman of the committee on Ibadov's rights protection, the Chairman of the Azad Azerbaijan Party, Hasan Hasanov, reported in Baku on 10 September.
Ibadov was arrested on 6 August 2007 for not paying off his debt to MKT enterprise. He had borrowed funds from the enterprise for his small business in Azerbaijan's Bilasuvar region in 1998. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment at Bail Investigation Cell 1. Ibadov was released after paying off part of the debt to MKT, Hasanov said. The committee on protection of Ibadov's rights stopped its activities.
ALDP, a member of the 'Our Azerbaijan' bloc, was established in 1999.
