Azerbaijan, Baku, 13 March / corr Trend E.Guliyev / Following the approval of new list, the number of historical and cultural monuments in Azerbaijan will exceed 7,000, Rizvan Bayramov, the department head at the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, told journalists on 13 March.
In 2001, the list of historical and cultural monuments in Azerbaijan included 6,308 units.
Bayramov said that the task to discover new culture and history, as well as monitoring, will end in the near future. All the historical and cultural monuments, not included in the list, will now be added to it. For instance, over 100 historical and cultural places of local and state significance, which were not included in the list, have been discovered in Khanlar district of Azerbaijan.
