Azerbaijan, Baku, 14 April / corr Trend I.Tahiroglu / The Supreme Courts of Azerbaijan and Turkey are closely cooperating with each other, Ramiz Rzayev, the chairman of the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan, currently on a visit to Turkey told Trend .
Rzayev said that last year Baku hosted the signing of a memorandum of cooperation between the Supreme Courts of Turkey and Azerbaijan. The chairman of the Azerbaijani Supreme Court was invited to Turkey at the invitation of his Turkish counterpart within the frame of the memorandum.
According to the chairman of the Supreme Court, the visit targets the expanding support between the court systems of the two countries. There are plans to organize joint training and conferences.
On 14 April the chairman of the Azerbaijani Supreme Court met with the co-chairman of the Supreme Court of Turkey, Hasan Gercheker, Justice Minister Mehmet Ali Shahin, as well as the chairman of the Constitution Court, Hashim Kilij. The talks focused on the cooperation of the courts in the two countries, the exchange of experiences and proximity of the legal systems.
The itinerary includes meetings with President Abdullah Gul, the chairman of the Supreme National Assembly of Turkey Kuksal Toptan and Prosecutor General Abdurrahman Yalchinkaya.
