Public union Irali calls on world's countries to take objective decisions aimed at restoring justice, to impose sanctions against invader country Armenia, to make appropriate political and legal assessment of Armenians' terrorist acts and genocide against Azerbaijanis. The Irali made the statement with regard to the Azerbaijanis Genocide Day on March 31.
On March 31, the Irali held protest actions regarding the Genocide Day.
The Irali said that thousands of Azerbaijanis became victims of the terrorist policy pursued by Armenia in March-April 1918 to destroy the peaceful population of Azerbaijan, Baku, Shamakhi, Mugan, Guba and Lankaran. As a result of an undeclared war, unleashed by Armenia against Azerbaijan in the late 20th century, one million Azerbaijanis were forcibly expelled from their homes, more than 20,000 died. Armenians occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijani territory. As a result of the Khojali genocide, over 600 peaceful residents of this town were slaughtered.
