The Azerbaijani Court sentenced a man, who injured two policemen sentenced to 10 years imprisonment.
The Court sentenced a resident of the Yenikand village of the Salyan region, Khayyam Gasimzade to 10 years in imprisonment.
Gasimzade was accused of Articles 126.2.4 (intentional infliction of grievous body injury, manner of hooliganism) and 315.2 (resistance or use of violence against a representative of authorities) of the Criminal Code, the Court of Serious Crimes told Trend .
On Apr. 27, 2009 Gasimzade stabbed his fellow villager, Mohlat Mahmudov. Then Gasimov injured employees of the Salyan District Police Department, including a senior police lieutenant Royal Bagirov and police captain Yagub Gashimov, who firstly arrived to the place of incident. Gasimzade escaped from the scene, but was later detained by police on the evening of the same day.
