Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science Gintaras Steponavičius met with the Azerbaijani students studying in Lithuania, the Lithuanian Embassy in Azerbaijan said today.
The reception was held in the Ministry, where Steponavičius warmly welcomed students and discussed their experience in studying and living in Lithuania.
"We are very happy that the young generation is actively participating in strengthening of the ties of Azerbaijan and Lithuania in the area of education," the Minister said.
"It's a big honor to us as students to be personally welcomed by Lithuanian Minister of Education and Science. We were very happy to come to this reception," one of the invited students noted.
There are over 30 students from Azerbaijan studying in various universities in Lithuania. Part of them was invited to study on the basis of Memorandum signed between the Embassy of Lithuanian in Azerbaijan and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, others applied directly to the chosen universities.
