In 2010, the Military Prosecutor's Office of Azerbaijan conducted 182 inspections to monitor implementation of the requirements of the laws by the investigation agencies, the Military Prosecutor Khanlar Veliyev said at a board meeting Thursday.
"As a result of inspections, 2,450 violations were found, 264 recommendations were sent to address the causes and conditions of the violations, 146 employees were warned, 67 criminal cases were filed, 122 written instructions were given regarding the cases pending in the implementation of investigative agencies, 74 illegal decisions were annulled," Valiyev said.
Valiyev said according to the changes in legislation, a new investigation department was established under the Ministry of Defense.
According to Veliyev, during the reporting period, the activities of the department for public prosecution protection were very fruitful. Department granted 65 percent of all appeals filed on decisions and judgments of courts of first instance.
