The world-famous Italian designer Ermanno Scervino presented the design of sports form of the Azerbaijani Olympians, who in 2012 will participate in the XXX Summer Olympics in London.
At the ceremony head of the fashion house that bears the name of Scervino, Tony Scervino said that the high quality costumes are produced in Italy. "While tailoring, the main attention was paid to quality as the Azerbaijani side made very high requirements," he said.
Scervino also sewed sports uniform for the Russian team at the 2008 Olympics.
The designer said he has already familiarized himself with the capital, and felt in Baku dynamism, which is absent in Europe.
In sports and casual clothing of Olympians, as well as accessories the flag and coat of arms of Azerbaijan, the national attributes are displayed at high level.
Ermanno Scervino won the tender among Russian, Slovenian and Swiss designers to develop a form for Azerbaijani Olympians.
Using the Azerbaijani national elements in sportswear, the designer at the same time introduced his ideas in the models.
Ermanno Scervino company has been engaged in production of women's clothing since 1999.
Mr Scervino mastered the profession of artist-designer himself, for some time he lived in Paris, studied architecture in Italy, and then diligently learnt from the great Italian masters in the field of fashion.
He developed unconventional, original style solutions by inventing a new style of "sport couture", which was embodied in a collection of evening down jackets. Among his clients are Sharon Stone and Uma Thurman. Products of this brand are represented in the 12 most fashionable showrooms in the world.
Boutiques of Ermanno Scervino have been opened in the United States, Great Britain, Russia, Switzerland, Portugal, Germany, Italy, France and Japan.
