The Academy of the International Gymnastics Federation held courses for trainers for the first time in Azerbaijan.

Three experts of the academy - Nota Klentrou (Canada), Nadia Alexandrova (UK), Elena Diashin (Portugal) hold the courses for 17 coaches in the hall of the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation.

"The Academy has three level courses", Nota Klentrou told Trend. "The current courses are for the first level. The courses aim to raise the teaching methods to the world level."

She added that there are coaches who successfully completed the third level of courses in Azerbaijan. One week courses, held in Baku, are primarily aimed at coaches with little experience and sportsmen who are completing their gymnast career and willing to start coaching.

The rhythmic gymnastics has been already well developed in Azerbaijan, Nota Klentrou said.

Theoretical and practical exams will be conducted and international level certificates will be given after the courses.

The Academy of the International Gymnastics Federation will hold courses for judges in March.
