Several drivers fell out of the GP2 Second Race, underway in Baku June 19, right after its start.
Sweden’s Jimmy Eriksson and UK’s Jordan King nearly collided in lap 8. Jordan King continued to drive, while Eriksson fell out of the race.
The incident will be investigated after the race.
Later, Philo Paz Armand and Norman Nato fell out of the race in lap 10.
GP2 Second Race kicked off in Baku June 19. Twenty two drivers are participating in the race.
Earlier, on June 18, Italian driver Antonio Giovinazzi of the Prema Racing team won the GP2 First Race.
The last day of Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe kicked off in Baku June 19. Azerbaijan is hosting the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Europe for the first time. The event started on June 17 and will end today on June 19.
Overall, 11 teams, two drivers in each, will compete in the race. The specially constructed street circuit will see F1 cars race around the stunning downtown area of Baku, incorporating its UNESCO-protected old city – Icheri Sheher historical-architectural reserve – as well as its modern skyline and beautiful Caspian Sea promenade.
