Azerbaijan will be represented in both individual and team events at the competitions in men’s artistic gymnastics within the framework of the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games, Rza Aliyev, head coach of Azerbaijani national team in men’s artistic gymnastics, told Trend May 11.
“The team includes Murad Agharzayev, Bence Talas and Timur Bairamov,” he said. “Bairamov is a young, promising gymnast. This is his first serious tournament, so he is working and preparing for it. We always set the highest goals.”
The coach singled out national teams of Turkey and Iran among the opponents of the Azerbaijani team, but expressed hope that everything will be fine.
The Baku 2017 Islamic Solidarity Games, the opening ceremony of which will take place May 12, started May 8 and will last until May 22 in Azerbaijan’s capital on 16 sports grounds in 20 kinds of sports - 17 Olympic ones and three non-Olympic ones.
