Türkiye reveals volume of cargo handled by Turkish port of Mersin in 11M2023

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 15. The port of Mersin (Türkiye) handled more than 37 million tons of cargo from January through November 2023, Trend reports.

According to the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, ships flying the Turkish flag handled 2.07 million tons of cargo through the port of Mersin during this period, while ships flying other flags handled more than 35 million tons.

According to the ministry, the Turkish port of Mersin processed 220,851 tons of transit goods from January to November 2023.

In total, more than 29 million tons of cargo were moved via Turkish ports in November 2023.

Additionally, during the same frame, 2.4 million tons of goods were transported by ships flying the nation's flag through domestic ports.

Ships flying other flags transported 26.58 million tons of cargo through the ports of Türkiye.

In November 2023, Turkish ports also handled 4.49 million tons of transit freight.

From January through November 2023, Turkish ports handled 335.3 million tons of cargo.

Furthermore, cargo transportation by vessels under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 26.47 million tons during the specified period. Cargo transportation through the ports of Türkiye by ships under the flags of other countries amounted to 328.8 million tons.

Turkish ports handled 61.49 million tons of transit cargo from January through November 2023.
