BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The 90th anniversary of the Azerbaijan Composers Union (ACU) was celebrated in Berlin, a source in the State Committee for Work with the Diaspora of Azerbaijan told Trend.
According to the source, in celebration of the anniversary, a classical Azerbaijani music evening was hosted at the Berlin Cultural Center, bringing together a tapestry of melodies and memories.
"Members of the Azerbaijani, Turkish, and other German communities, as well as media representatives, attended the event.
The ACU Chairperson Firangiz Alizade noted that the union, a vivid example of the contributions of the great Uzeyir Hajibayli to the development of Azerbaijani music, has successfully evolved over the past 90 years.
For this reason, the anniversary of the institution is being celebrated both in Azerbaijan and abroad, she said.
The event continued with a concert program.
Under the artistic direction of People's Artist Fakhraddin Karimov and Honored Artist, Presidential Prize laureate Inara Babayeva, the Azerbaijan State Chamber Orchestra named after Gara Garayev performed works by the founder of Azerbaijani classical music, Uzeyir Hajibayli, Fikrat Amirov, Gara Garayev, Asaf Zeynally, Musa Mirzayev, and Firangiz Alizade," reads the source.
