“The Azerbaijani Court of Appeals held preparatory sitting under the chairmanship
of judge Salman Husseynov on Tuesday in regard to the appeal of 17 servicemen,” Samad Panahov, the lawyer of a serviceman, told Trend.
The lawyers stated that they did not agree with the sentence made by the Court on Hard Crimes in regard to the servicemen.
The servicemen are accused of bribe-taking, forgery of official documents and abuse of power on items 311.3.1, 311.3.2, 313, 320.1 and 341.2.1 of the Criminal Code. The Court on Hard Crimes sentenced former servicemen to appropriate imprisonment terms in October, but they filed an appeal in this respect.
The judge set the date of consideration for 21 November.
