The organization of the second conference of the Congress of World Azerbaijanis was marked in Brooklyn province of New York, Tomris Azeri, the chairman of the Azerbaijani-US Society, Tomris Azeri, said in her speech to the conference in Baku.
It was possible at the decree by the head of the province, Martin Markovich.
Azeri with satisfaction announced that Mayor of New York, Michel Bloomberg, for the first time stated on his intention of organizing Novruz holiday. The holiday will be marked at the Mayors House on 28 March in the form of official reception.
We believe that thanks to activities of Diaspora, the mutual relationships between the United States and Azerbaijan will rise to qualitatively new level, the chairman of the society underlined.
Azeri marked the weighty activities of the society over the past 5 years. Rehabilitation work was set up at the National Center of Azerbaijanis, located near New-York. After the completion of rehabilitation the Culture Center will enable to spread in the United States comprehensive information on Azerbaijan, receive eminent guests from Baku and hold forums with the participation of officials of the US community, Azeri informed.
The chairman of the Azerbaijani-US society said that with regard to strengthen work over propaganda of national values of Azerbaijan her society unified the efforts with some US public organizations.
In the conclusion Azeri thanked President Aliyev for highest award of Azerbaijan Order of Fame.
