Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. K.Zarbaliyeva / Chaired by Yusif Kerimov, the court cases of Editor-in-Chief of Sanat newspaper, Sadagatoglu and publicist, Rafig Tagi was completed in Sabai District Court of Baku.
The Court sentenced Sadagatoglu to four years in prison and Tagi to three.
The State prosecutor asked the Judge to sentence Sadagatoglu to five years and Tagi to four. Sadagatoglu and Tagi were arrested in November 2006 over the article 283 (fomentation of national and religious antagonism) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. They are accused of insulting Islam and Prophet Mohammad in the article entitled ' Europe and we'.
