Azerbaijan, Ganja / Тrend corr V. Mammadov / Development of a new program on religious issues in Azerbaijan will begin in 2008, the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims' Clerical Port, Sheik-ul-Islam Hadji Allahshukur Pashazadeh, stated at a regional meeting in Ganja city on 6 June.
According to Pashazadeh, the program will resolve the issues relating to salaries, clothes, as well as control over the activities of religious figures. It will be ready by the middle of 2008, Pashazadeh added.
Sheik-ul-Islam spoke on the plans on establishment of a branch of the Islamic University in Ganja. Thus, in his opinion, it will be possible to minimize the necessity in sending of Ganja youth abroad for religious education.
Ganja is located 365 km west of Baku.
