4Q2020 global smartphone supplies exceed 2019 figures

The global prices for smartphones have rebounded in the fourth quarter of 2020, Trend reports citing preliminary data from the International Data Corporation (IDC).

According to IDC, from October through December last year, the supplies grew by 4.3 percent compared to the same period in 2019 and reached 385.9 million units.

Besides, sales of gadgets in 2020 decreased by 5.9 percent compared to the previous year.

Apple smartphones ranked first in terms of sales in the world for the reporting period, followed by the products of the South Korean giant Samsung and the Chinese Xiaomi.

As earlier reported, according to Stats Counters' Global Stats, in Azerbaijan, in January 2021 Samsung smartphones and mobile phones retained the leadership for popularity with a share of 45.48 percent, followed by Xiaomi mobile devices with a market share of 31.45 percent, and Apple smartphones with 14.72 percent.
