By Sadraddin Aghjayev - Trend:

Belarusian companies are expected to take part in the design of settlements and the reconstruction of transport infrastructure facilities in Azerbaijan following their participation in the BakuBuild exhibition, Trend reports on Oct.11 citing the Belinterexpo exhibition enterprise of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry says.

The Made in Belarus exposition at the BakuBuild exhibition will be organized by Belinterexpo with the support of the Belarusian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

"The construction sector of Azerbaijan is of significant interest for Belarusian companies. This sector ranks second after the oil sector in terms of state investment. Moreover, there is a high demand for sawn timber in the country, and a simplified tax is provided for the enterprises of the industry," the enterprise said. "Besides, Azerbaijan is a profitable destination in terms of the re-export of goods and has a special place in China's "One Belt - One Road" global logistics project. Thanks to the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, built in 2017, the delivery time of goods from China to Europe and back through Azerbaijan has been halved compared to sea transportation. It’s planned to transport more than 17 million tons of cargo annually."

Belinterexpo also noted that the BakuBuild exhibition will be attended by five companies from Belarus, which will demonstrate products and services necessary for the development of the construction industry in Azerbaijan.

"The companies include “Energocomplekt”, which will present cable products and wires of various specifications at the exhibition. “Belenergo” Production Union’s enterprises – “Belenergoremnaladka” and “Belelektromontazhnaladka" will demonstrate technologies to ensure reliable and economical operation of energy facilities, measuring equipment, automation, vacuum circuit breakers, and other equipment," added Belinterexpo.

In the first quarter of 2021, construction companies of Belarus delivered products worth more than $3.5 million to Azerbaijan, which is 2.2 times more compared to the same period in 2020.
