The Azerbaijani Hazelnut Producers and Exporters Association focuses on the export of products in 2022 to the European market, which processes 80 percent of all products, Ismayil Orujov, chairman of the Association, told Trend.
Orujov added that one of the main goals of the Association in 2021 was to maintain the third position in the export of hazelnuts in the world.
“The reason for focusing on the European market in 2022 is the passive purchasing of hazelnuts in other countries,” the chairman added. “For example, Arab and Asian countries prefer almonds.”
Orujov added that the government's measures to promote the products under the "Made in Azerbaijan" brand in the foreign markets also contribute to the increase in the export of hazelnuts.
The Azerbaijani Hazelnut Producers and Exporters Association was registered in the Ministry of Justice on October 31, 2016. Its main task is to help develop the production of hazelnuts.
