BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 21. The gross domestic product (GDP) of Azerbaijan's Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR) increased by 1.5 percent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, Trend reports citing the State Statistical Committee of the NAR.

In the reporting period, Nakhchivan's GDP exceeded 570.38 million manat ($335.7 million).

As the Committee reported, from January through March 2022, the industrial output of the NAR was above 263.78 million manat ($155.25 million), up by 1.5 percent compared to the same period last year.

GDP per capita in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic during this period amounted to 1,231 manat ($724.5), which was two percent more than in January through March 2021.

Following the results of 2021, Nakhchivan's GDP rose by 2.4 percent compared to 2020, exceeding 3.016 billion manat ($1.77 billion).
