BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 6. Azerbaijan's trade turnover with 10 main trading partners amounted to $11.5 billion from January through April 2022 (an increase of 56.02 percent over the year), Trend reports citing a report by State Customs Committee.
Italy retained the status of Azerbaijan's largest trade partner, during this period, with a trade turnover of about $5.9 billion (136.3 percent growth over the year). Ranking followed by: Turkey - more than $1.9 billion (growth by 22.6 percent over the year) and Russia - $893.4 million (growth by 6.4 percent over the year).

Azerbaijan imported most of its products from Russia - by $694.5 million (the share in total imports was 17.1 percent) during the reporting period. Another steps of ranking are followed by: Turkiye - $687.4 million (17.01 percent), China - $620.5 million (15.3 percent), Kazakhstan - $202.08 million (five percent) and Germany - $184.07 million (4.5 percent).
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by 60.3 percent, or $5.97 billion from January through April 2022 compared to the same period last year - from $9.8 billion to $15.8 billion.
Exports accounted for $11.8 billion, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, which is $5.4 billion (85.7 percent) more than from January through April 2021. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 74.5 percent against 64.3 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $511.6 million, or 14.5 percent, in the reporting period, from $3.5 billion to $4.04 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 25.4 percent against 35.6 percent a year earlier.
The balance of foreign trade turnover, remaining positive, increased year on year by 2.7 times, or by $4.9 billion, to $7.7 billion.
