Turkiye reveals сargo turnover of Trabzon airport for May 2022

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 17. The cargo turnover at Turkish Trabzon Airport has notably grown in May 2022, Turkiye's Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports via TurkicWorld.

According to the ministry, this indicator amounted to 8,690 tons, up by 68 percent on annual basis.

In May this year, the cargo turnover on domestic flights via the airport reached 7,537 tons (an increase of 50 percent compared to the same month of 2021) while on international flights it was 1,153 tons (rise of 7.6 times).

Meanwhile, passenger traffic at the airport equaled 977,300 people, which is 59 percent more year on year. Some 918,930 passengers were served on domestic flights (a 50-percent increase), while 58,362 passengers - on international flights.

At the same time, according to the ministry, the number of flights from the airport was 7,548, which is 38 percent more year on year. The domestic flights increased by 33 percent to 6,605, while international flights increased by 82 percent to 943.

In May 2022, passenger traffic at all airports in Turkiye amounted to more than 56.9 million people, and cargo turnover – 1.38 million tons.

Over 128.3 million passengers and 3.35 million tons of cargo were transported through all Turkish airports in 2021.
