BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 28. Exports from Azerbaijan to India amounted to $796.9 million from January through May 2022, which is 2.2 times higher than the same period last year, Trend reports with reference to the statistical bulletin of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee.
According to the committee, India's share in Azerbaijan's total exports amounted to 5.1 percent during the reporting period.
Azerbaijan's imports from India amounted to about $74.1 million in the first five months 2022, and the share of this country in total Azerbaijani imports was 1.4 percent.
The trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India amounted to $871.1 million from January through May 2022.
Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover totally increased by 73.8 percent, or $8.7 billion from January through May 2022 (from $11.8 billion to $20.5 billion) compared to the same period last year.
Exports, in the structure of foreign trade turnover, accounted for $15.4 billion, which is $7.9 billion (107.5 percent) more than in the first five months 2021.
The share of exports in the foreign trade turnover amounted to 75.01 percent against 62.8 percent a year earlier.
Azerbaijan's imports increased by $724.6 million, or 16.9 percent (from $4.3 billion to $5.1 billion) in the reporting period. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 24.9 percent against 37.1 percent a year earlier.
