BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 17. Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan amounted to $2.7 million or 0.8 percent of the total trade turnover of Azerbaijan with the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries from January through July 2022, Trend reports via the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Tajikistan decreased by 49.95 percent from January through July 2022 compared to the same period the previous year ($5.5 million).

Tajikistan's share in Azerbaijan's total trade turnover in the same period amounted to 0.01 percent.

Tajikistan's imports to Azerbaijan amounted to $2.7 million from January through July 2022, which is 50.15 percent less than in the same period in 2021 ($5.4 million).

Tajikistan's exports to Azerbaijan amounted to $33,750, which is 26.53 percent less ($45,890).

Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover from January through July 2022 increased by 69.91 percent or $12.3 billion compared to the same period last year - from $17 billion up to $30 billion.

Exports in Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $22.5 billion, which is $11.1 billion (98.05 percent) higher than in 2021. The share of exports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 75.07 percent against 64.4 percent the previous year.

Azerbaijan's imports increased by $1.1 billion, or 18.99 percent, from $6.2 billion to $7.4 billion. The share of imports in foreign trade turnover amounted to 24.93 percent against 35.59 percent a year earlier.

The balance of foreign trade turnover, while remaining positive, increased year on year by more than $9.9 billion, or more than 2.95 times - to $15 billion against $5 billion from January through July 2021.
