BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 26. The second meeting of the Kazakh-Azerbaijani Business Council will take place in Kazakhstan in 2023, Chairman of the Standing Committee on the Economy and Budget of Kazakhstan Abbat Urisbayev told Trend.
According to him, Azerbaijan is one of Kazakhstan's most important political and economic partners.
"More than 300 Kazakh companies are cooperating with Azerbaijan today. About 145 Kazakh companies are also represented on the Azerbaijani market. The volume of foreign trade turnover between two countries is growing. Thus, trade turnover in the first half of the year increased by more than 3 times compared to the previous year's period. In general, given the geopolitical situation in the world, development of bilateral relations is beneficial not only to Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, but also to the region as a whole,"
Urisbayev stressed that both countries are cooperation in dozen types of areas.
"All cargo flows that go from China to Europe used to pass by Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, however, today the two countries have become the center of cargo transportation between these regions. Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan established maritime communication long ago and a lot of work is underway to strengthen ties between the ports of both countries, and develop and simplify cargo transportation procedures. These issues are planned to be discussed on an ongoing basis, including at the second meeting of the Business Council," he said.
The chairman of the committee added that the city and the exact date of the second meeting are currently unknown.
