BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 11. Azerbaijan has great potential for future growth of micro business, Board Chairman of Azerbaijan’s AccessBank David Tsiklauri told Trend.
According to Tsiklauri, although the bank focuses on micro business, it will continue to serve medium and large businesses as well.
"We plan to create a new line of lending to individuals and micro business, and carry out work on the digitalization of banking services and processes. Moreover, we’ll work to improve our digital communication channels with clients," he said.
Speaking about the current geo-economic changes, the board chairman stressed that they strongly impact the development of the banking sector in Azerbaijan.
"This is due to the fact that our country is integrated into global economy. What is happening in neighboring countries affects our banking sector, and the main task of AccessBank is to anticipate possible risks,” Tsiklauri noted.
“In economically positive times it’s necessary to create the so called 'safety cushion' for ‘bad times’ (economic recession). According to the current macro parameters of both banks and the economy of Azerbaijan as a whole, now is the time to provide that safety cushion," he added.
