BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. The export value of products of Azerbaijan's SOCAR Polymer, an a decreased from January through September 2022, the country's Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication told Trend.
According to the center, this figure amounted to $146.3 million, down by $26.1 million (by 15.14 percent) on annual basis.
In the first nine months of this year, SOCAR Polymer became one of the leaders of the public sector of Azerbaijan in terms of exports. It ranked second in the top 10 in terms of the value of non-oil products exported by Azerbaijani state-owned companies.
The construction of SOCAR Polymer plants has become the first large-scale project of the country's petrochemical industry over the past 40 years.
The company’s production facilities consisting of polypropylene (PP) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) plants are located on the territory of the Sumgayit Chemical Industrial Park (SCIP).
The PP and HDPE plants were commissioned in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
