Azerbaijan's state budget revenues from privatization of state property increase

BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 21. The state budget of Azerbaijan received 60.5 million manat ($35.5 million) from the privatization of state property (a 2.3 times increase) from January through June 2023, Trend reports.

According to the State Service on Property Issues under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a total of 28 auctions on privatization of state property were held during the reporting period.

Shares of 7 joint-stock companies, 11 small state-owned enterprises, 2 auxiliary construction sites and 259 cars were privatized at auctions.

As many as 148 electronic applications for state property (put up for auction) were received, and 31 online connections were made through the Electronic Auction program, during the reporting period. Thanks to the activities of auctions, 18 mineral deposits were put into operation.

About 10.4 million manat ($6.1 million) were invested in privatized enterprises through investment competitions and more than 50 new jobs were created in the first half of 2023.

The state budget of Azerbaijan received 115.4 million manat ($67.8 million) from the privatization of state property (a 2.4 percent increase) in 2022.
