BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 26. Azerbaijani honey is exported to the countries of the Middle East and Asia, the Azerbaijan Beekeepers Association told Trend.
The association noted that the country's honey is exported in small quantities to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates (especially to Dubai), as well as to Japan.
Regarding the development of beekeeping in Azerbaijan, the association said that currently four beekeeping farms are engaged in apitourism, and one farm is engaged in apitherapy.
The association also shared information about the methods of treatment of bee colonies.
"Sublimators and thermal imaging cameras are used in bee treatment methods," the association said.
In general, Azerbaijan is increasing the production of honey from year to year, and the resumption of beekeeping in the liberated territories has opened new horizons for the industry. The growth is largely due to the country's support of this sphere, which is now referred to as eco-entrepreneurship.
The Association previously said that the resettlement of bee families in Azerbaijan has been going on, mostly in Kalbajar, Lachin, Khojavand, Gubadli, and Jabrayil. Some 21,000 bee families were resettled to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan in 2022. In turn, this number is estimated to reach 42,000 bee families by the end of 2023.
