BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 7. TotalEnergies' refining and chemicals sector recorded an adjusted net operating income of $1.399 billion in the third quarter of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the company, this marked a notable 39-percent increase compared to the previous quarter ($1.004 billion in 2Q2023).
This boost was driven by enhanced refining margins in Europe and an increased utilization rate, TotalEnergies noted.
However, the company's refining and chemicals sector adjusted net operating income in the reporting period of 2023 declined by 28 percent year-on-year from $1.935 billion in 3Q2022.
Over the last nine months, TotalEnergies' income from refining and chemicals totaled $4.021 billion - down by 31 percent, compared to $5.815 billion in 9M2022.
Meanwhile, TotalEnergies decreased its refining throughput by 7 percent year-on-year in the third quarter of 2023. Thus, the company's refining throughput in the reporting period totaled almost 1.5 mb/d, compared to 1.6 mb/d in 3Q2022.
