BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 10. Azerbaijan's retail trade turnover grew by 3.6 percent from January through November 2023 year-on-year and reached 51.27 billion manat ($30.16 billion), Trend reports.
The data of the State Statistics Committee showed that in the reporting period, the turnover of food, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 2.4 percent (to 28.7 billion manat or $16.88 billion), and non-food goods - by 5.1 percent (to 22.6 billion manat or $13.29 billion).
Meanwhile, the population spent 51.7 percent on food products, 4.2 percent on beverages and tobacco products, 14.7 percent on textiles, clothing, and footwear, 5.5 percent on motor fuel, 4.9 percent on electrical goods and furniture, 2.2 percent on pharmaceutical goods and medicines, 1.1 percent on computers and 15.7 percent on other non-food products.
The value of goods sold by economic entities of the non-state sector increased by 3.4 percent from January through November 2023 year-on-year and accounted for 99.7 percent of the total retail trade turnover.
Average monthly per capita retail trade turnover in Azerbaijan amounted to 459.2 manat ($270.11), including turnover of food, beverages, and tobacco products - 256.8 manat ($151.1), non-food products - 202.4 manat ($119.05).
Earlier in 2022, the turnover of retail trade in Azerbaijan increased by 3.1 percent year-on-year and reached 52.1 billion manat ($30.6 billion).
The turnover of food, beverages, and tobacco products increased by 2.3 percent (to 29.4 billion manat or $17.2 billion), and non-food goods - by four percent (to 22.8 billion manat or $13.4 billion).
