Azerbaijan's monetary base rises dramatically

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 1. The monetary base in Azerbaijan amounted to 20.3 billion manat, or $11.9 billion, as of January 31, 2023, which is 20.06 percent, or 3.4 billion manat ($2 billion), more than the indicator for the same period in 2022, Trend reports, referring to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

According to CBA figures, the monetary base hit 16.9 billion manat, or $9.9 billion, for the 2022 reporting period.

The indicator of monetary base is less by 2.89 percent, or 604 million manat ($355.3 million), than the indicator as of December 30, 2023.

The monetary base includes cash, a free bank, and the mandatory reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
