BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 13. Investment in fixed capital amounted to 1.5 billion manat ($880 million) in January 2024, which is 37.4 percent more than the figure for the reporting period of 2023, Trend reports.
According to the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan, the volume of investments in the oil and gas sector increased by 44.5 percent and in non-oil sectors by 34.1 percent.
At the same time, 45.5 percent of investments in fixed capital (over 707.3 million manat ($415.5 million)) went to the sphere of production, 50.4 percent (782.6 million manat ($459.8 million)) - services, 4.1 percent (63.1 million manat ($37 million)) - construction of residential houses. 82.7 percent of investments (over 1.2 billion manat ($705 million)) directed to fixed capital were internal funds.
Over 1.1 billion manat ($646 million) or 75.2 percent of the funds directed to fixed capital were spent on construction and installation works during the mentioned period.
Meanwhile, in 2023, investments in fixed capital amounted to 20.2 billion manat ($11.8 billion), which is 9.8 percent more than the figure of 2022.
