Azerbaijan significantly boosts monetary base over year

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 2. The monetary base in Azerbaijan as of February 29, 2024, amounted to 20.1 billion manat ($11.8 billion), which is 16.71 percent, or 2.8 billion manat ($1.6 billion), more than the figure for the same period in 2023, Trend reports.

According to the data of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, the monetary base exceeded 17.2 billion manat ($10.1 billion) in the reporting period of 2023.

The indicator of the monetary base is 0.69 percent, or 139.3 million manat ($81.8 million), less than the figure for January 31, 2024.

Meanwhile, the monetary base includes cash, free banking, and the required reserves of commercial banks in circulation.
