BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 19. On August 19, a meeting was held in the building of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC with students admitted to the Russian Transport University (RTU) for the 2024-2025 academic year and enrolled in the Azerbaijani Railways scholarship program, Trend reports.
Boosting students' motivation and preparing them for future possibilities and duties were the goals of the meeting. The administration of the Azerbaijani Railways extended best wishes to the students as they embarked on the new school year and provided guidance on how to excel academically and be a credit to their nation.
Furthermore, in 2023, as part of a series of events commemorating National Leader Heydar Aliyev's 100th birthday in Moscow, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation agreed to create broad conditions for Azerbaijani students to study at this university and establish a scholarship program.
In partnership, Azerbaijani Railways gives RTU students a monthly stipend and the chance to intern in the service industry and find a career. RTU covers Azerbaijani students' annual tuition, provides a dormitory, and helps preparatory faculty learn Russian to overcome the language barrier.
Training of local transport personnel in Azerbaijan, which has become a hub of global transport corridors, is a priority issue of the day. As a partner of this scholarship program, Azerbaijani Railways strives to contribute to the development of human capital in the country's transport sector and is working on new projects in this direction.
