BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 30. The resolution of the Turkish government increased customs duties on imports of some types of plastic products from countries that are not members of the World Trade Organization (WTO), and only Azerbaijan was excluded in this matter, Trend reports.
According to information, the order of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the changes in the import regime was published in the official newspaper of the Turkish government - “Resmi Gazete”.
The Turkish Ministry of Trade notes that the increase in customs duties is related to efforts to preserve and stimulate local production, as well as to reduce the country's trade deficit.
Based on the government's decision, an additional duty of $50 to $400 per ton of imported plastic products from non-WTO countries (excluding Azerbaijan) will be levied.
The resolution comes into force in 30 days from the date of publication.
