An innovative greenhouse complex is being built in Pitnak (Khorezn region) in Uzbekistan, Trend reports citing UzDaily.

Construction of a greenhouse complex for cultivation of agricultural products and vegetable growing was launched in September 2019, by Avtosanoat Invest LLC of Uzavtosanoat JSC structure.

The 12-hectare complex is being built using energy-efficient technologies, hydroponics method, water and fuel saving system in the heating cycle and will be the largest project of such class in Uzbekistan, the report says.

The project is implemented with active assistance of UzAuto Motors plant in Pitnak city of Khorezm region in organizational issues, from personnel selection to assistance in dealing with special equipment. As part of the program of import substitution, materials of production of Uzavtosanoat were used in the construction of metal-structural part of the complex.

"It is also planned to involve private entrepreneurs in the localization process in order to increase the import substitution and the range of localized parts of the metal frame. In particular, heating and retaining pipes were manufactured at the facilities of Autocomponent JSC (Asaka city) and fasteners and connections of Uz-Hanwoo JV LLC (Fergana city)," the message said.

The innovative approach will allow creating a modern complex capable of yielding about 1,800 tons of tomatoes, 250 tons of strawberries and other agricultural products.

The proposal to organize a greenhouse complex was approved by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Khorezm region in November 2018.

The total cost of the project is $10.9 million. The project, the completion of which is scheduled for October 2020, will provide employment for more than 150 people.
