The rest of the Marvdasht-Dorudzan highway in the Fars Province (southern Iran) could be launched, if needed 1.5 trillion rials (about $35.7 million) is provided, Deputy Director for Roads and Urban Development Department of Fars Province Mostafa Taghavi said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.
According to Taghavi, the total length of the Marvdasht-Dorudzan highway is 45 kilometers. So far, 32 kilometers of it have been launched.
The deputy director added that the physical progress in the construction of the remaining 13 kilometers of the highway is 80 percent.
“This highway is of great importance for both the province and the country. So, this road will play a major role in the transportation of agricultural products,” he said.
