By Nazrin Israfilova – Trend:
The main goal of the Azerbaijani Association of Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers in 2022 will be the production of the Isuzu car brand, Gulay Hasanova, the deputy board chairperson of the association, told Trend.
According to Hasanova, Chevrolet and Isuzu brands were imported to Azerbaijan in 2021.
Currently, the production of the Chevrolet vehicle continues. Isuzu trucks have already been delivered, work is underway, but production is scheduled for 2022, she said.
Besides, according to her, the production of Khazar vehicles and Qaz medium-duty trucks also continues.
The association’s representative noted that strategic plans for 2022, including marketing plans to increase production, have been identified. New retail outlets will open, where the Isuzu brand will be presented, as well as service centers.
Moreover, a leasing center will be created. Production of Khazar and Chevrolet vehicles will continue in 2022 and its volume is expected to be larger than in previous years.
As a new brand, Isuzu will be produced as a pickup truck. Isuzu cars will be produced at a plant in the Hajigabul industrial zone, Hasanova further said.
"We are planning to hold a business forum on the occasion of the Isuzu brand launch. In 2021, the association's work was delayed a little due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but now there is progress not only in the field of machinery, but also in the field of equipment, so we plan to take certain measures. Along with the Isuzu brand, in 2022 we plan to produce at least one more truck brand," she added.
The public entity "Association of Machine and Equipment Manufacturers" was established on December 28, 2018 by Azermash OJSC and Asena Co LLC.
The association was founded on the basis of the principles of voluntariness and legal equality united by the common interests of the participants in the field of production of machinery and equipment.
The official opening of the Azermash car plant took place on March 29, 2018.
