Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / Italian Company Todini Costuruzioni Generali SpA began its project to reconstruct part of the highway from Baku to the Russia border (northern direction), a source at the Azerbaijan Ministry of Transport stated.
The length of the reconstructed section is 61km, the width of the road 27.5m and the thickness of the road is 83sm. Technical control on the construction work will be made by the alliance "Tеmеlsu-ECO-AUCO".
The project will include a total of 15 new bridges, 16 overpasses, two pedestrian subways and two subways for livestock. The cost of the project is AZN 118.7mln. The project will be financed through credit from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and at the expense of the Azerbaijan Government.
The road will be put into operation in 2009.
