Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 January / Trend corr S. Babayeva / The market share of the Garadagh Cement OJSC, the largest cement manufacturing plant in Azerbaijan, is gradually decreasing, the company's Director General Horia Adrian said at the meeting with business partners, the company reported.
"Presently, the plant meets only43% of the cement demand in the internal market," he said.
The rest of the cement is produced by other local manufacturers and is imported from Russia, Iran, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and China.
According to the Azerbaijani State Statistical Committee, 1,778,000 tons of cement was produced in Azerbaijan in 2007, which is 10.6% up from 2006. All cement was produced in the private sector.
