Russian Shipbuilding Enterprise to Construct Two More Tankers for Palmali

Azerbaijan, Baku, 5 March / Trend / On 4 March, the Krasnoe Sormovo plant and the Palmali group of companies signed new contracts in Istanbul on the construction of two tankers in accordance with Project 19619. The period for implementation of the contracts is the fourth quarter of 2009, the MNP group of companies, including Krasnoe Sormovo, reported.

Krasnoe Sormovo has already constructed two tankers for Palmali, the first one (Masalli) was passed to the customer in September 2007, the second (Agdash) at the end of October 2007. Construction of the third tanker will be completed by November 2008.

A tanker of Project 19619 has 12 freight and one settling tank, water ballast tanks in the inturned welts and in the double bottom. Its length is 150m, width- 17.30m, height onboard - 10.5m, deadweight - over 13,000 tons.

By the suggestion of the customer, the basis of the project was considerably changed in the vessels which had been put into operation, and a range of innovations are to be implemented on the new ones.

Krasnoe Sormovo completed the construction of an all-purpose dry cargo Euro Cruiser vessel under Project RSD17 for Palmali. In February 2007, Palmali and Krasnoe Sormovo signed a contract on the construction of ten tankers intended for transportation of chemical substances under Project RST22 with a deadweight of 7,000 tons. The Novaya Armada tanker under Project RST22 was put into operation in May 2007.

Palmali, a large shipping company, mainly specializes in the transportation of oil products (petrol, gasoline, vacuum gasoline, stove fuel, and kerosene), crude oil, food, and industrial lubricants. Furthermore, the company has its own dry cargo fleet, which is used in the transportation of all types of dry cargo.
