Azerbaijani Government to Increase Fine for Violation of Consumers’ Rights by Employers in Azerbaijan – Minister

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 March / Trend corr. U.Ismayilova / The Azerbaijani Economic Development Ministry has proposed to raise the fine against participants within the consumer market should employers violate consumers' rights, Heydar Babayev, Economic Development Minister, said.

"Monitoring of the situation has revealed that most employers pay the fine and continue to violate the consumers' right," Babayev said.

The State Service on Control over Consumer Market at the Economic Development Ministry was established by the order of the President on 26 December 2006. The State service has made a total of AZN 145,000 fines since its operation.

The fine increase has been discussed at the Ministry.
