Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 May / Trend corr I. Alizade/ Azerbaijani Parliament will extend the period of targeted social aid intended for poor population from six months to one year. "At present, targeted social aid is allotted for six months. President Aliyev has ordered to extend the period to one year," Hadi Rajabli, Chairman of Azerbaijani standing parliamentary committee on social policy, said to journalist on 6 May.
"Moreover, according to the Law, if the families wanting to receive the targeted social aid make a mistake in the submitted documents, they shall not be able to receive the aid for two years. Now, this period will be reduced to one year," Rajabli said.
According to Chairman, according to another change, irrespective of the date when request is submitted, funds will be added to the persons account from the 1st day of that month only.
Rajabli said that the volume of the aid will also grow. The subsistence limit will be increased and the issue is being currently discussed. "At present, subsistence limit totals AZN 45. Azerbaijan is able to increase the figure. Increased public budget for 2008 also envisages raising the subsistence limit. President Ilham Aliyev has given orders in this connection and the issue is being discussed," he said.
According to Rajabli, changes in terms of the targeted social aid allocation will be discussed at the Parliament on 17 May.
