Azerbaijan, Baku, 3 October / corr. Trend E.Ismayilov/ The new "Nasimi" station of Baku Metro will be opened in the capital of Azerbaijan next week, Metro said on 3 October.
Earlier, opening of the new station was planned to take place on 15 September in area of Baku's sixth and ninth micro-districts.
The Metro station is completely prepared for operation, and presently, papers on technical indices are collected for being submitted to Azerbaijani Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Economic Development.
Baku metro has been functioning since 1967 (from Icheri Shexer to Nariman Narimanov with three intermediate subway stations).
Seven subway stations (Icheri Shekher, Sahil, 28 May, Jafar Jabbarli, Hatai, Nizami, Elmler Akademiyasi) are in large depth, Bakmil is ground-based and other ones are tower, to small depth (20 stations in all).
