New chairman for Kazakh BTA Bank’s board

BTA Bank Joint Stock Company (JSC) Board of Directors decided to appoint Kazakh National Bank Ex-head Anvar Saydenov as the chairman of the bank's board, the JSC Press Secretary Adil Dosimov said.

Dosimov said that the bank's Former Head Roman Solodchenko will be appointed the board's deputy chairman.

Earlier, Saydenov worked at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as executive director at the Kazakh State Investments Committee, chairman of the Investment Agency, Kazakh deputy finance minister, chairman of the board of the Kazakh National Savings Bank OJSC, as well as deputy chairman and chairman of the National Bank.

BTA Bank's consolidated assets amounted to 3.671 billion tenge or $30.6 billion, and loan portfolio reached 2.814 billion tenge or $23.5 billion at the third quarter in 2008. The JSC's consolidated net income comprised 35.2 billion tenge or $293 million at the third quarter in 2008.

BTA Bank's bank-partners network covers Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Georgia, Armenia, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey. BTA offices function in Russia, Ukraine, China, United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom.
