Tokyo stocks closed sharply lower Wednesday with the key Nikkei index falling 1.45 percent to the lowest level since October 27, Xinhua reported.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average shed 111.07 points to 7,534.44.
The broader Topix index lost 7.27 points, or 0.96 percent, to 749.26.
