Over five months of 2009, 5,970 enterprises and individuals were involved in foreign trade in Azerbaijan, the State Customs Committee said on June 24. Of these, 2,959 falls to enterprises and are in thousands of legal and 3,012 - individuals. Part of public sector in exports amounted to $4.35 billions (94.76 percent), private sector - $214.08 million (4.66 percent), while individuals - $26.39 million (0.57 percent).
Part of the public sector in import was $602.39 million (26.63 percent) and private sector - $1.55 billion (68.71 percent). Individuals' part in these operations accounted for $104.81 million (4.63 percent).
In January-May, trade operations were conducted with 120 countries. During this period, the country's export increased by 69.12 percent or $10.27 billion and amounted to $4.59 billion compared to the same period in 2008.
Imports grew by 8.16 percent, or more than $201 million, reaching $2.26 billion dollars. Goods turnover amounted to $6.85 billion.
In January-May, Azerbaijan exported 1,300 kinds of goods, and imported 4,790.
