Azerbaijan is ready to buy vaccine against swine flu

The Azerbaijani government intends to buy vaccine against swine flu as soon as it is prepared, the Azerbaijani health ministry said on August 21.

"Azerbaijan will buy it after tests are fully conducted," the ministry said.

Vaccine against swine flu will be prepared in October, head of the World Health Organization, doctor Margaret Chan, said.  

She said that work over creation of vaccine took a half of a year. At present, talks are held with possible producers of medical preparation.

According to Azerbaijani ministry of health, one Baku's resident and one Ganja's resident were infected coming from France (on July 27) and Great Britain (July 29). Both infected were fully cured.

A woman arrived from Paris on July 27. Purpose of her visit was tourist trip. While feeling bad she applied to hospital on July 29. Results of analyses revealed swine flu.

On July 29 termo-sensor installed in Baku airport revealed high temperature of Azerbaijani citizen arrived from Great Britain. 

The ministry said that at present, no new case of A/H1/N1 virus is registered.

"Two infected people have been fully cured. At present, they continue normal activity," the ministry said.

All people contacted with infected people and passengers of both flights were medically examined due to swine flu. Results were negative, the Azerbaijani health ministry said.

Major symptoms of this virus include high temperature, cough, pain in threat, coryza, pain in body, headache, chill, weakness, as well as diarrhea and retching.
